/ Budge up

Budge Up is a campaign for Amnesty International that urges the Prime Minister to take action against the ongoing refugee crisis. The British government has pledged to take on 20,000 refugees by 2020, we wanted to remind the public that in the grand scheme of things, this is an insignificant amount of extra people and that even if we took in half a million extra refugees, there will still only be one refugee for every 128 British citizens. ‘Budging’ is defined as making a slight movement to make room, so we sent our yellow man into the city to encourage Londoners to budge up and make room (and then sign our petition to pressure the government).
